How to Replace the Backlight of iPad Pro 11" 2nd Gen (2020)
January 11th,2023

There is an iPad Pro 11" 2nd Gen (2020), we can see the watermark clearly on the setting pure white interface. We tested the touch function but no problem was found. In this case, the problem can be solved by replacing the backlight.

Watch the video:

First turn off the iPad and put it on the heating platform for preheating. Use the pry tool to loosen the edges and corners around, then open the screen.

We need stick the front face component with dust-proof tape at the first time after opening the screen. Next unscrew the screws, remove pressing plate, disconnect the display touch flex cable and tear off the photosensitive flex cable on the screen.

Now remove the backlight power supply flex cable and use a thin sheet to cut the display board, which requires the addition of a moderate amount of alcohol to soften the glue underneath. Then carefully lift the backlight side by side.

We can paste the new backlight prepared in advance after wiping off the watermark stains on the screen. Display splint and the photosensitive flex cable are glued back. The touch display interface snaps back to the motherboard.

Next, install the pressing plate, screw in the fixing screws, and install the screen back.

Now let's test, the watermark on the setting white interface has disappeared and there is no broken touch when pulling the desktop APP icon. Thus the backlight replacement of iPad Pro 11" 2nd Gen (2020) is successfully completed.
